What is Microneedling?
Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling is a treatment in which small, shallow, cosmetic needles are used to poke tiny channels into the skin. This creates a “controlled wound response” where collagen is stimulated to help heal the channels, and in turn helps to smooth and plump the skin. This treatment works on a number of conditions, from wrinkles, to acne scars, and even stretchmarks!
Is it safe?
Any wound carries a risk for scarring and infection, however, when performed by a professional, this risk is very low! It is possible to find at-home needling rollers, but we recommend having an in-office treatment hands down.
Professional microneedling is a more aggressive treatment, yields better results, and is done in a controlled environment where state sanitation laws are observed.
Does it hurt?
Since professional needling devices allow for a more aggressive treatment, most offices (like our own) provide a topical anesthetic cream. This cream is applied to the skin and is allowed to penetrate for 15-30 minutes, making the treatment virtually painless!Book Now
